Minster Tree Festival 2018

Each year the Great Yarmouth Minster throws open it's doors to the various organisations from the town to participate in a friendly Christmas Tree competition.

There is never a shortage of original and innovative entries by the town's organisations. The town's people turn out on-masse to view the entrants and perhaps have a cup of tea at the church cafe`.

We at Ormesby Lace were very pleased with the tree we entered for this year's Festival.

For us it was fortuitous that our own Christmas Lace competition's theme was christmas tree decorations. So we could have easily have entered three trees.

As with everthing we do it was a joint effort. All our ladies participated in making the decorations, decorating the tree and making sure we had somone at the Minster to answer questions about lacemaking when possible.
